About the Artist

Sean
Rouse.

I don't tattoo everything. I tattoo what I do exceptionally well — bold color, anime and illustrative work, and sharp blackwork. That focus is the reason clients travel from across the state to sit in my chair.

Based in Jacksonville, NC, I've competed at conventions and walked away with four first-place finishes in large color, anime, pin-up, and work on melanated skin. Those wins aren't on the wall for ego — they tell you what you're getting.

My rate is $150/hr. My minimum is $100. I book 12 weeks out because I take on the right number of clients to give every piece the time it deserves.

Aftercare
Guide.

The work doesn't stop when you leave the chair. How you heal your tattoo determines how it looks in five years. Follow this.

01
Days 1–3
Fresh & Healing
  • Leave the wrap on 2–4 hours (or as directed)
  • Wash gently with fragrance-free soap, lukewarm water
  • Pat dry — never rub
  • Apply a thin layer of unscented lotion 2–3× daily
  • No soaking: no pools, baths, or ocean
  • Keep out of direct sun
02
Days 4–14
Peeling Phase
  • Expect peeling and light scabbing — totally normal
  • Do not pick, scratch, or peel the skin
  • Continue washing twice daily
  • Moisturize when skin feels tight or dry
  • Itching is normal — tap, don't scratch
  • Loose, breathable clothing over the area
03
Week 2+
Long-Term Care
  • Tattoo is surface-healed but still settling underneath
  • SPF 30+ on any exposed tattoos — every time
  • Stay hydrated; healthy skin = vibrant ink
  • Send me a healed photo — I love to see the finished result
  • Touch-ups included if there are any issues from healing

Automatic aftercare emails included with every appointment. You'll get a Day 1 care guide, a Day 4 check-in, and a Week 2 reminder to send your healed photo — all sent automatically so nothing falls through the cracks.

FAQ

Questions.

Everything you need before you reach out. If you don't see your answer here, the consultation form is the right next step.

Bold color, anime/illustrative, and blackwork. Those are the three styles I've built my practice around — they're where I do my best work, and they're what I take on. I don't do pet portraits, realism, custom script, or tribal.
$150/hr with a $100 session minimum. A $200 deposit is required to secure your appointment — that's 50% for sessions under two hours. The deposit goes toward your total. It's non-refundable but transferable if you reschedule with at least 72 hours notice.
Currently 12 weeks out. That's not a flex — it's a reality I want you to plan around. If you want a specific date or season, reach out well in advance. The wait is worth it.
If you know the style, have reference images, and are ready to go — book directly on Calendly. If it's custom design, a cover-up, a large multi-session project, or you're not sure if your idea is a fit, use the consultation form. I'll get back to you within 48–72 hours.
Rarely. Occasionally I have last-minute cancellations — follow me on Instagram and TikTok for those. Otherwise, book in advance. Walk-ins almost never align with my schedule or the kind of work I take on.
11:30 AM to 8:00 PM. I work by appointment — showing up without one isn't going to work out. Email me at seanrouse90@gmail.com if you have a general question.
Sometimes. Cover-ups depend entirely on the size, density, and placement of the existing piece. I can't make a call without seeing it. Submit a consultation request with photos and I'll give you an honest answer.
Yes — and I've specifically won a convention award for best tattoo on melanated skin. Color on deeper skin tones is something I've invested real time learning to do right. I take it seriously.
